HERE IS WHAT WE ARE DOING.

On Sunday, March 16 (our first try at this)we went to the Brewster A&P with 33 reusable bags that we purchased ourselves. We set up a table in the front of the store with the bags and a flyer explaining what we were doing.

Well, we lasted about 1 1/2 hours. People reacted very positively. We also set up a donation box. $16.00 the first day!

Our next date:  Sunday March 30. 11:30 AM. The A & P in Goldens Bridge on Rte. 22. The center is right off Interstate 684. Two hours of passing out bags and fliers. $35.00 in donations to buy more bags. Definitely warmer.

 

We went back to Brewster on Sunday, April 13. We took in more money and gave out 42 bags.

 

Due to other matters, we took some time off and we went to the A & P in Yorktown on Mother's Day, May 11. This was the first warm Sunday. We gave out about 45 bags and took in $38.00. We ran out of flyers and just had to talk to the people about what we are doing.

 

The next date will be in 2 weeks. We may try to add 2 friends and do 2 places at once.
